Ramsey County fire departments have partnered with the Ramsey County Emergency Communications Center to integrate life-saving technology into our emergency response system.
Our Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system is integrated with PulsePoint. When a cardiac arrest is identified in a public location, PulsePoint Respond app users nearby are immediately notified so they can begin CPR before EMS arrives on scene.
Ramsey County Emergency Communications Center staff are trained in Telephone CPR, providing pre-arrival instructions to callers. Using the NEAR AED database, dispatchers can also advise callers on the location of the nearest registered AED, helping put a life-saving device in the hands of a bystander within minutes.
